Microsoft Word 2010

Microsoft Word 2010 boasts of an Advanced font pane that gives the user new font manipulation choices, including the option of choosing from a variety of style sets, adding ligatures and the all new OpenType typography feature. There are also certain new Word Art features that allow advanced artistic effects, which were not available in the previous versions.
The navigation bar has also seen an upgrade, which has made searching documents far more pleasant. Instead of having to click ‘next’ to jump to the next word, now the searched words all appear highlighted at once.

Microsoft Excel 2010

Microsoft’s spreadsheet application also has some new innovations in the 2010 suite. The most prominent addition is a feature called Sparklines, which basically allows you to create small charts in a single cell. If you are an advanced user, you will be quite pleased with the PivotTables and PivotCharts feature, which allows the user to create customizable charts from given data without breaking much sweat!

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010

Microsoft introduces the impressive PowerPoint Broadcast Service, which basically allows you to have your presentation displayed on the laptops, or other such devices, of your audience. With the ‘Broadcast’ slide show button, you can easily get a link of your presentation, which can then be distributed. So while you have control of your slides, the audience can view it on their devices too!

Microsoft OneNote 2010

OneNote is basically a note taking application, which has seen great improvements in the 2010 suite. Not only can you send any of your documents to OneNote via the ‘print’ option, but now you can also take notes on this application while your working on other applications such as Word and PowerPoint. You can even take notes while browsing the web, which is quite neat indeed!

Microsoft Outlook 2010

The email application has seen a number of tweaks in the 2010 suite. From changes to the Business Contact Manager, now allowing you to manage projects; to the inclusion of the impressive Outlook Social Connector allowing you to view status updates from your social networks, Microsoft has tried to make its personal information manager application much more advanced, and has succeeded to quite an extent!

Microsoft Access 2010

Even Microsoft’s database app has a couple of new, improved additions. There are new templates that you could use in the new suite. Additionally, there are other new features that make creating database forms much easier, as you can now simply pick and choose which field and feature you wish to include!
